Welcome
I want to welcome you to my personal web site. My name is Mitko Kostov and I'm web and mobile applications developer.
My passion is coding in Ruby, but I'm also interested in Python, Scala, Clojure and Erlang. I'm maintain bulgarian translation of the official website of Ruby. What I Use
1. Ruby
This is the language I'm most comfortable with. Beautiful, elegant and powerful. It has good documentation and great libraries. I've worked with Ruby On Rails, Sinatra and Padrino web frameworks. Also I'm using testing frameworks like minitest, rspec and capybara
2. PHP
PHP is the most used language for developing web sites. It's mature, stable and practical. Existance of solid frameworks like Symfony, Code Igniter and Zend framework proves that. Being supported by many web hosting companies makes it good and logical choice for web development.
3. Javascript
Javascript is the leading client-side language. Although many people rate it as toy language, javascript is perfect for animations, user interaction, validations, server-side coding with Node.js and mobile applications develpment with Appcelerator Mobile, Sencha Touch and JQuery Mobile.
4. CSS/SASS
CSS is the technology behind styling web applications and sites. With latest innovations on the browser side and the new specification of CSS3 many things that were done with javascript are now accessible with CSS. Using SASS makes styling web applications and sites real easy and joyful task.
5. GIT
Version control systems are essential in every developers toolbox. Distributed nature of git makes it easy to code and share applications. Existing GUI programs and web services like Github help me be productive and stay on track for all of my private and public projects.
